KAR OG DIMA DMCC is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Senior Process Engineer will lead the early-stage engineering efforts for the development of surface facilities in a new oil and gas block. This includes conceptual design, front-end engineering (FEED), and support for detailed engineering activities. The role requires strategic input, multidisciplinary coordination, and technical leadership to establish the process design foundation for safe, reliable, and cost-effective development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and development of Conceptual Design and FEED for surface facilities in a new oil and gas block.
- Perform process simulations and develop heat and material balances using process engineering software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
- Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Cause & Effect Diagrams.
- Lead equipment and pipeline sizing studies, including steady-state and transient flow analysis.
- Line sizing and Equipment/Vessel sizing calculation & process data for equipment; Sizing calculation and process data sheet for Package items Gas Screw Compressor, Centrifugal Compressor, Reciprocating Compressor, Separators, Flare Package, Process Coolers, Chemical Injection Package, air compressor, nitrogen generation; Sizing calculation to ensure that all of Project Specification, Contract requirement, applicable Local and International Codes and Standards are fully complied in design and technically justified.
- Prepare and review process data sheets for equipment and instrumentation, including safety valves, control valves, and restriction orifices.
- Formulate key engineering philosophies (Control, Shutdown, Depressurization, Safeguarding, Pigging, flare etc.).
- Participate in and lead HAZOP, SIL, and HAZID studies and ensure closure of process-related actions.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams, operations personnel, and external contractors.
- Support project planning, scope definition, and development of Basis of Design and Process Design Basis documents.
- Provide technical oversight during detailed engineering, procurement, and construction support phases.
- Assist in the preparation of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup procedures for new facilities.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, international codes, and HSE guidelines.
- Manage change processes including technical queries, deviations, and concession requests.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 12–20 years of experience in upstream oil and gas process engineering with a focus on early project phases.
- Proven experience in Conceptual Design and FEED for surface facilities.
- Strong knowledge of international standards and practices (API, ASME, IEC, etc.).
- Proficient in process simulation and design tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Experience with brownfield and greenfield projects is an advantage.
