Job Description

Kar OG Dima DMCC is seeking a qualified and motivated HR Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will support and execute core human resources functions across the company, ensuring compliance with company policies, local labor laws, and oil & gas industry standards.


Job Title: HR Specialist

Department: Human Resources

Working days: Sunday to Thursday

Working Time: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM


Key Responsibilities:

1- Support end-to-end recruitment activities, including job postings, CV screening, interview coordination, and onboarding.

2- Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower requirements.

3- Maintain and update recruitment trackers and candidate databases.

4- Support hiring of local and expatriate staff in line with company policy.

5- Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries.

6- Support resolution of employee issues in line with company policies and labor law.

7- Assist in disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, and investigations when required.

8- Promote a professional, compliant, and respectful workplace environment.

9- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (contracts, personal files, job descriptions, evaluations).

10- Prepare employment contracts, amendments, renewals, and confirmations.

11- Track probation periods, contract expiries, employee movements and support HR     audits and internal reviews.

12- Assist in payroll coordination by providing accurate HR data (attendance, leave, changes).

13- Maintain leave records, including annual, sick, and special leaves.

14- Support administration of employee benefits as per company policy.

15- Always ensure compensation data confidentiality.

16- Support implementation of performance appraisal processes.

17- Coordinate performance review cycles and documentation.

18- Assist managers in understanding performance management procedures.

19- Ensure HR practices comply with local labor law, company policies, and oil & gas industry standards.

20 - Support development, communication, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

21- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all HR activities.

22- Assist in identifying training needs in coordination with department heads, coordinate internal and external training programs and maintain training records and attendance reports.

23- Prepare regular HR reports (headcount, turnover, leave, recruitment status).

24- Maintain HR databases and ensure data accuracy.

25- Support management with HR-related data analysis when required.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

1- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.

2- Minimum 5–7 years of HR experience, preferably in oil & gas, energy, construction, or industrial sectors.

3- Previous experience working with oil & gas companies is highly preferred, with exposure to both local and expatriate workforce management.

4- Strong knowledge and practical experience in applying Iraqi Labor Law, including employment contracts, disciplinary actions, leave management, employee benefits, and termination procedures.

5- Knowledge of Southern Iraq labor market dynamics and established professional connections within Basra and other Southern Iraq governorates are considered a strong advantage.

6- Very good communication skills in Kurdish, Arabic, and English (written and verbal).

7- Good knowledge of Iraqi labor law and HR best practices.

8- Experience working with multicultural and multi-site workforces is an advantage.

9- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

10-Proficient in MS Office and HR systems.

11-Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.

Working Conditions

1- Office-based with coordination across company sites when required.

2- May require interaction with field/project teams.

3- Normal working hours with flexibility during peak HR activities.
